Christopher Brown, MSc

Christopher Brown

Christopher holds a master’s degree in Public Health and is well in to his training in Clinical Psychology. As a budding therapist, he operates from a mindfulness orientation. It’s his belief that when we practice bringing ourselves into the present moment more and more each day, we begin to naturally live more whole and fulfilling lives. His mindfulness approach is combined with one of compassion, both for ourselves and for the people around us. Through self-compassion work, we can begin to accept ourselves exactly as we are, which also sets us on the path for healthy change. He combines his approach, with modern evidence-based Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural therapeutic approaches, specifically Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Besides teaching important skills, these therapies also place a strong emphasis on identifying our values and living our lives in accordance with them.

When people come to Christopher saying that they are hurting, he doesn’t view them as someone with a problem, but instead he sees them as having wonderful opportunity to grow. He views therapy has one of the most beautiful gifts that humans have given to themselves. and looks forward to spending his life growing as a therapist. Christopher is also interested in human potential and the possibility for psychotherapy not only to help us when we are feeling stuck, but also to support growth and achieve new potential in our lives. By gaining new perspectives and mending past hurts, therapy can help us live more fulfilling lives, even when things are already going alright.
