Dr. Sherri Frohlick is a Registered Psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, youth and families. Sherri earned her Ph.D from Simon Fraser University with an emphasis on child clinical-developmental psychology where she studied the influence of parenting perspectives and parent-child relationships on the development of children’s social thinking. She has worked and interned in private practice, community mental health and hospital settings. Sherri has a passion for working with young children, parents and families as well as providing psycho-educational and comprehensive mental health assessments for children and youth.
Dr. Frohlick believes that every client is their own expert and seeks to provide services to children, youth and families that are both evidence-based and sensitive to client’s own identified strengths, struggles and needs. Her approach is both collaborative and client-driven, so that children and families always feel like their views, opinions and choices are respected and part of any treatment plan. Dr. Frohlick works from a relationship-based framework, incorporating CBT, DBT, play therapy, psychodynamic, talk therapy, family therapy and group therapy where appropriate. Sherri works with clients of all ages, but has extensive experience working with parents and young children (0-5) using play-based approaches for a variety of concerns. Dr. Frohlick is a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and runs attachment-based parenting groups for parents of young children. Dr. Frohlick also provides assessment and treatment in a community-based mental health setting and supervises students from various educational institutions in BC.
