Katrina Milani

Katrina Milani, BA

Psychoeducational Assessment, Telehealth (Virtual Treatment + Consultations)

Katrina is currently completing her internship with Vancouver Psychology Centre to finish her Doctor in Clinical Psychology. She provides services to youth and families. Her values of compassion, respect, and hope inform her approach to therapy. She hopes to convey to clients that no struggle is too large or too small to tackle together. She counsels youth and families to process the feelings and challenges that are getting in the way of them feeling good about themselves and creating a life of fulfillment.

Katrina believes it is important to create a personalized therapeutic experience for each client because the needs of each person are unique. Her therapeutic approach incorporates well-researched treatment like Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). Through her work in community mental health, she has learned the importance of exploring the social and family context in understanding personal difficulties. She has as a personal interest in how cultural factors impact a client’s lived experience.

Katrina creates a warm and non-judgmental space for clients to explore and address personal challenges and life stress. By meeting the client where they are, she fosters a collaborative, client-lead relationship. She focuses on building a strong alliance to ensure she is hearing the client’s concerns and helping them accomplish their goals.

It is a privilege for Katrina to accompany clients as they discover their own potential for growth and a renewed understanding of themselves. This keeps her passionate about the work that she does and looking forward to meeting new clients.
