Dr Sandhu has a deep commitment to connecting with the children, youth, adults, couples, and families that she works with every day. She brings a highly compassionate approach to providing evidence-based care to all ages. When she is not in the therapy room, she brings her vast knowledge of psychoeducational and socio-emotional assessment of complex neurodevelopmental concerns to help individuals and families with diagnostic, academic and treatment information and planning.

Dr. Sandhu is a bilingual clinician who is well versed in English, Hindi, and Punjabi who provides culturally sensitive and evidence-based practice including  an expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Psychodynamic theoretical approaches.

Dr Sandhu also has experience with delivering psycho-educational groups for parents, children, and adolescents. She was an accredited Marriage and Family Therapist prior to her training as a psychologist and she continues to offer dynamic  relationship strengthening strategies and therapy in her work at VPC.

Dr Sandhu is  passionate about training the next generation of psychologists: her most recent post was as an associate professor within the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Medicine, Clinical Health Psychology Program, providing teaching and supervision to psychology residents and medical students.
